Modern diesel beats fuel cost fears in Sydney-Melbourne towing

Eco-adventurer Hans Tholstrup has once again shown that modern diesel motors make towing Australia economical.

He used less than 53 litres with a Hyundai i30 SX CRDi manual turbo Diesel, towing a light Cub Kamparoo Weekender trailer from Sydney to Melbourne.

GoSee reported Tholstrups successful less than 75 litres of diesel used with a bigger, heavier Jayco Feather caravan in December 2006.

Mary Taylor has returned from her 17th trip around Australia in her yellow Honda Jazz and she is already planning her next one!

Her marathon around Australia included Broken Hill, Longreach, Katherine, Broome, Perth, Ceduna and Mildura. She covered more than 16,000 kms.

Mary at 90 loves the freedom driving brings and the open road. 'You have got to experience the country,' Mary said on her return home.
